ENGLISH FOR TRANSLATORS (Angličtina pro překladatele)

I am bilingual Czech/English speaker with a background in linguistics (U.S. high school + university). Lived 30 years in the U.S. but 100% fluent in Czech language and culture. What I can offer:

1. You translate from Czech to English, I correct you if needed and we discuss issues and topics as they come up.
2. We practice pronunciation. I like to focus on aspirated consonants (lack of aspiration makes Czech English hard to understand) and on stressing proper syllable.
3. You write papers on whatever topics you choose, I proofread and correct mistakes or offer suggestions.
4. Basic conversations about topics you choose.
5. If you work as a translator you can have me check your work before submitting it to your employer.
